ID Criss Cross Coated Pigs ID-XX Series
Crafted with foam of 2-3 lbs/ft³ density and striking the ideal balance between flexibility and durability,
this intermediate density foam is tougher than light-density pigs, providing enhanced performance for
more demanding pipeline operations.
The criss-cross polyurethane elastomer coating significantly increases abrasion resistance, making
these pigs suitable for removing debris, light scale, and wax from pipelines. Their firmer structure
allows them to handle more aggressive cleaning tasks compared to light-density criss-cross pigs,
which are best suited for gentle cleaning or pipelines with minimal contamination.
Where Used Instead of Light Density Criss-cross Pigs:
Intermediate density criss-cross coated pigs are preferred when:
• Pipelines need light to moderate cleaning beyond the capability of light-density pigs.
• Pipeline diameters vary, or there are bends, making durability and flexibility essential.
• Tougher deposits like wax, sand, or light scaling need to be removed.
• Longer operational runs are required without rapid wear.
These pigs are commonly used in industries such as oil and gas, water utilities, and industrial
pipelines where more rigorous cleaning or extended runs are needed while still maintaining flexibility
to navigate complex pipeline configurations.
